Congratulations to First Members of The Goodie Foodie Club

Congratulations to First Members of The Goodie Foodie Club

“Kids earned their membership status at The Goodie Foodie Club, by doing amazing work, in a timely manner. In the last 10 days, we have surpassed a milestone, finished 27 reviews (over 25% completed). The awesome team of kids is from the Valley and the Westside; and was selected to finish the fun purpose driven project. Congratulations to the dads, moms, and kids too…thank you for using your talent to make a lasting difference and inspiring the community.” Recruiting for Good Founder and Fun+Advocate Carlos

The Goodie Foodie Club

Our kids get the funnest weekend gigs to write reviews of restaurants they love. Food is sponsored (by Recruiting for Good) and delivered home.

1. All content is developed by kids.
2. Kids who do a great job, earn more writing gigs.
3. Kids learn leadership skills, positive values, and work habits.

Robin, mom whose kids are participating in ‘Kids Get Paid to Eat‘ adds, “What I love most about my kids having this opportunity to write food reviews is that it allows me to teach them, in bite-size pieces, one skill at a time, how to improve their writing. Especially now that our schools can no longer provide direct instruction to our children, this is a tremendously helpful and needed experience, not to mention a tasty one! It does indeed give a purpose to a passion in a playful kind of way.”

What Makes Good Leaders Great…Inspired By 8th Grade Girl

What Makes Good Leaders Great…Inspired By 8th Grade Girl

“Conversation inspired by Stella, 8th Grade, who created fun gig for kids to support her BFF, and Dad/Chef Colapasta.” Carlos, Founder, Kids Get Paid to Eat

Leaders are great when their inspiration to create something new (product, service, or gig for kids) is based on principles of love. Money is short lived to inspire people to give up their weekends, and make sacrifices. Leaders are responsible to adhere to a higher calling; so that they can provide everlasting change…if you can’t answer the why question (why did you start this or that); go back to the drawing board.

What I love about, my community project “Kids Get Paid to Eat,” I am listening to the kids…and they are teaching me what is missing in their life (what skills and values kids want to learn).

Stella’s love for her friend inspired me to fund her purposeful gig (Support Colapasta). Yes, Recruiting for Good is sponsoring every dish on Colapasta menu, and kids are enjoying the food, and writing reviews.

Another great lesson for kids to learn around leadership is delegation; love inspires building great teams. Leaders don’t do all the work, they find family, friends, employees, and even volunteers to help do the work.

“I love to enroll people; and I feel blessed to use my talent for good and help Stella fulfill her purposeful gig.”

If God Granted Me One Wish…

If God Granted Me One Wish…

What would you choose…if it’s something else than air…then, I challenge you to create a social project around it. Last 2 months, I have launched different projects (and awards) into the community based on fun food programs (Love to Feed LA). For me food is joy, well-being, energy, love, sharing, and inspiration.

“I create fun community projects without attachment to ego (success or failure), if there is interest, and participation I keep it going….if not, I drop it.” Carlos, Founder Fun+Advocate Love to Feed LA

This past weekend, I launched Kids Get Paid to Eat + Review the Best Food in the Hood. I had 10 families in both the SFV and Westside sign up…so far we have done 11 reviews. Kids are creating their own special projects, Radley in 6th grade has Type 1 Diabetes, and Celiac Disease (he is reviewing top 10 SFV restaurants with gluten free dishes). We have a couple of more LA Foodie Kids on fun special creative writing assignments.

Our goal is to review 100 restaurants by July 1st, 2020 (Recruiting for Good is paying for all the delivered food, to save families money, and let kids know that we appreciate their participation). Kids choose whichever restaurant they want to review, and dish. They enjoy the food, and then create all the content (take picture of food, and write a review).

Our mission is simple to make life fun and rewarding for kids. Teach kids positive life values, and work habits. And perhaps prepare them for tomorrow’s jobs too. We created LA’s Funnest Weekend Gig…Kids Get Paid to Eat.

Kids also learn how to use their talent for good, become value driven members of the community, and inspire others.

“Special thanks to Kim Rouggie who connected me to awesome moms whose kids are in the girls scouts.”  Carlos, Founder Fun+Advocate

If god granted you one last wish…what will you do…start today!

Grateful to Be American and Help Save US Jobs

Grateful to Be American and Help Save US Jobs

If you don’t know me, I was born in Mexico and came to the US with my family when I was 12. I had to overcome  learning disabilities and learn a new language at the same time. Compassionate teachers, like Mrs. Rimers at Lawrence 2000 taught me to speak English by singing ‘Old Time Rock and Roll,’ by Bob Seger and The Silver Bullet Band.

While in High School and College, I worked as a Spanish Teacher, and TA. After college, I worked at Kmart, quit went back to teaching Special ED, and ended up pursuing a Masters Degree in Counseling. While working on my degree, I worked at an Accounting Firm, and met Alan Gregor, who inspired to become a recruiter. Minisystems, was the only agency in LA who hired me with an education resume (thank you Bruce Flaxman)….interviewed at over 30 agencies.

After working for a couple of agencies, and as an in-house recruiter, I started my own agency initially called TempTech, then, Recruiting for Good. The staffing industry has given great opportunities to serve candidates and companies. Generating proceeds to create social projects that make a difference too.

Why I am grateful to be American? Having the opportunity to live purposefully, find joy in what I do, and change lives. I am using my talent for recruiting to fund cause Love to Feed LA…and making it fun and rewarding for people to participate.

In dire times, we need people to step up their game, how are you using your talent for good?
