Why Rewarding Food is So Fulfilling

Food is comfort, joy, and a sense of well-being…it is enjoyed and shared with family, friends, and community. I am grateful to be in a position to sponsor fun food parties, contests, and now fun purpose driven rewards (Co+Op Feeding LA, and Rewarding Dining Club) for people who participate in Recruiting for Good’s referral program) to help fund nonprofits feeding LA.
My Top 10 Favorite Food Contests + Parties
- Transforming Le Macaron on Montana Avenue to the streets of Paris…have macaron, and fashion party.
- Belgian Chocolates and Melting Chair Massages (at KC Chocolatier).
- On Halloween…on Montana Avenue …rewarding kids treats (John Kelly Chocolates)…’Tell me one thing you love about mom.”
- Kickass & Party for Good, on July 4, 2018 I sponsored Breakfast, Lunch, Happy Hour, and Dinner (60 people from every walk of life, I nominated some, and had people nominate their employees, and volunteers) Huckleberry, North Italia, Robata, and Sushi Roku.
- Kids creative contest to win Thanksgiving Dinner from Whole Foods, “If you could change someone’s life who would it be.” Both winners chose to donate their dinners to Veteran Families. November 2019
- Hanukkah kids creative writing contest, “if you could do one miracle for one person what would it be?” Winning entries won a box of sufganiot, and a donation to a nonprofit. December 2019
- Mommie and me “Beauty Foodie Party” Manis and Chocolate Strawberries.
- 40 and 50 is Beautiful, hosted a dinner party for men and women (women were the only ones who showed up), at Art’s Table.
- Creative writing contest, “Choose one word that can change the world and tell me how?” Win a Beauty Foodie Shopping Day.
- Celebrating, Our Moms Work…fun brunch for moms to talk about life, finding work, and challenges…we ended up talking for 4 hours. North Italia

Rewarding Party for 10 Kickass Teachers
Do you live in L.A., are you a teacher, do you kickass@work, and love health conscious food….Recruiting for Good is sponsoring a fun foodie 4th of July party for professionals just like you. That’s right we are picking up the check for 10 r Foodies+Teachers for Good and their one special BFF, kid, or significant other for a special Breakfast at Art’s Table in Santa Monica from 930-1100 am. We only have 10 spots open, and you need RSVP by no later that June 22, 2017 to reserve your spot.
We are paying for everyone’s breakfast.…why? Carlos, the Founder of Recruiting for Good, used to be a teacher. And we love to celebrate professionals who kickass@work, you are the unsung heroes who get “IT” done, the leaders, the awesome team workers, you make work fun and rewarding, and prepare our young people for tomorrow’s jobs….thank you….you are the change makers…you are the 10% who tip the balance for good.

No walk-ins will be rewarded, if you are not on the RSVP list, you will not earn a free breakfast reward. Come celebrate your freedom on the 4th of July and Party for Good.

Helping 1 Person See the World for Good at a Time

“People ask me why I am doing creative writing events to reward travel? Because, it is fun and inspires people to see the world for good….” Carlos Cymerman, founder, Recruiting for Good.
Case in point last night March 2, 2015, I conducted a writing event with 10 men in a nonprofit that mentors men to be leaders in life in the Valley…and on my way home I stopped at Gelson’s to pick up dinner….and this happened to me….
“My name is Jacob Shaw. I served you tonight at the Gelson’s service deli in Encino at about 8:30 pm. Do you remember me?As I was serving you, we briefly discussed the the subjects of creativity and personal perspective. Although I did not have the time to express my thoughts properly, I felt compelled this evening after my shift to write you a short message communicating how moved I was by your passion and belief that even something as inconsequential as a four letter word can change the world.
You asked me two questions. First, you inquired if I was a creative person. Second, you asked me if I had enough faith to believe that a single word can change the world. Although my capacity for creativity is questionable, I am a strong believer in the power of both words and language. Before beginning my career at Gelson’s, I was an English teacher in Korea. For close to four years, I taught students the importance of developing not only their language skills, but also their perspectives and creativity. I know each of them will impact the world greatly after seeing a large majority of it for themselves.
If possible good sir, I would like to formally accept your creative writing prompt. Not to earn a vacation, but simply because I believe in your cause. I would like to contribute the time and effort necessary to composing a prompt that could possibly help someone in some way.”
Imagine, if everyone had an opportunity to genuinely connect to a new person every day, and make them feel special…I feel blessed that I can do this everyday by helping people see the world for good.
